If you are not familiar with what to expect in a professional massage, please take a moment to read the following. You should find all the answers to your frequently asked questions. If there’s something we didn’t cover, give us a call. We’re always happy to hear from you.
While each session is customized to fit your unique needs, some elements are common to all:
If you are new to Perfect Balance Therapeutic Massage, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes early to complete a brief intake form that will help us plan out your massage session. We ask that you come 10 minutes early to every massage session, so that we can give you your full time. By coming a few minutes early, we can give you time to update us on your health and get settled on the massage table before your massage time begins.
Although some popular spas and massage chains only give you a 50 minute ‘hour’ of massage, at Perfect Balance the length of the massage session you schedule represents actual “hands on” time. So, if you book a 60 minute session, you get the full 60 minutes. We program in additional time on our end to allow your therapist to talk with you about your intake form, and to give you time to dress and undress for the massage, and for the therapist to clean the massage room and provide fresh, clean linens for the next session. These tasks will not shorten your actual massage time. Please arrive 10 minutes early for your massage session, so that we can update your health information and give you time to get settled comfortably on the table.
Client comfort is a primary concern at Perfect Balance. Although our massages are often sports oriented, we’re not big believers in “No Pain, No Gain’ when it comes to massage. Sometimes when working adhesions or a trigger point, it may ‘hurt so good’. This is perfectly normal. However a massage should not feel like “ow, ow, stop!” So, if you are ever uncomfortable with anything during your treatment (pressure, techniques, etc) please let your therapist know immediately so we can make you comfortable while we continue to give you an effective massage.
No, our facility does not include a shower. But the lotions and creams that our therapists use rarely leave our clients feeling greasy.
